These are not for every cabinet in your house. For instance, I have a cabinet that holds items that I don’t use everyday, like nail polish. I don’t need a pull out drawer for those things. I need a pull out drawer for things like my cleaning products. Something simple that allows me to see what I have and what I need at a glance. Think of it like a spice drawer – when you are busy cooking that fabulous meal, you don’t have time to pick up and look at each spice to find the one you are looking for. That is what these drawers do for you; make it easy to find the item that you use frequently.

I live and die by baskets. They are cheap, made of good quality, and not only needed to organize all those little items you have into categories, but also hide them away from prying eyes (not that my friends ever go into my closets). It is just one of those pet peeves I have, the closets must be organized; and they can only be filled with that which fits neatly into place. This spring when I went through my spring cleaning phase, I made a point of throwing out or donating so many small and big items because they just didn’t fit into my closets or the baskets I had bought to organize the whole thing. (By the way, if you are in a bind, Tupperware also works for a good organization bin). These particular baskets come in a variety of sizes so be sure to look at the measurements.

If you haven’t seen one of these, you have been missing out. This scrubber is electric so it takes care of those pesky bathtubs, tiled walls, and even make the floors wonderfully clean. If you are the kind of person who likes to buff and clean the outside of your car, this also is the tool for that. I mostly use this in my bathrooms, but have been known to use it when there is a particular spot in my house that needs that extra clean I can get from this scrubber. And it spins!

I share a closet with my husband. And since this is an ancient home, the closets are so small that I often want to bust my hands through the wall just to see if I can make more room. So I have had to get creative. One of the best things I found were these shoe organizers. They are adjustable, have enough room even for all my husband’s shoes, and easily slid right under my dresses. I don’t love the clear top, although I recognize that it makes it easier to see what is inside the box, so I deal with it. And because this hides in my closet, I don’t have to really worry about the pretty.

If you haven’t discovered microfiber cloths to clean, please consider doing so. They absorb better than towels, won’t waste your paper towels, are machine washable, and quite frankly, you can use them anywhere (including your face). Microfiber cloths come in all sizes and even shapes, so if you find these to be too big, just cut them up. Frankly, sometimes after I am cleaning and I look at this towel, it gives me a little jolt because of all the junk that has been picked up in my home.

If you are anything like me, you purposely never think of the toilet brush you have to use to clean those nasty toilets. It is just a yucky thought. But the truth is, you probably need to replace yours, if you haven’t already. I like this system because they are one and done – you use it and then you throw away the head. It just seems more sanitary somehow. And Clorox adds their cleaning solution to each of the disposable heads making it easier to use. For me, this is just a simple solution to a nasty problem.

This is another product I didn’t know I needed, until I had it. This brush allows you to get into all those crevices, like behind your bathroom sink, or in the corners of the bathroom and kitchen floors (where I used them the most), or even all those window tracks. The best part of these little things is that the handle is long enough that not only is it easily controllable, but you won’t get your hands dirty in the process. I use mine constantly and have even replaced them because of how much use I get out of them.

Did I mention that I live in an old house with really small closets and really small bedrooms? Put a bed and dresser in there and you are pretty much done. So my storage options have gotten creative. In the old days, when I lived under my mother’s roof, I had to exchange my winter and summer clothes out each year and store them (although I don’t remember where she stored them). For me, and my children, I have had to reenacted this bi-yearly process. But because of my lack of space the only place I had to store those clothes, blankets or even beach towels, was underneath the beds. I like this storage bin for one major reason: they have handles and labels.

Storage does not have to be hidden underneath the bed. And it doesn’t have to be plastic and ugly. These stackable bins allow you to easily add storage to any room. The bins, while stackable, also have doors on the front of the bins for easy access (I don’t want to remove five bins to get to the bottom one). I have used these in my kids rooms, in my little kitchen for a pantry, and even as storage in my bathroom (I like my skincare).

I saved the best for last. I am a Cricut lover. But I don’t have the space to spread all the materials out (like the cutting machines, the heating, the mats, the tools). When I got this, I couldn’t wait to start using it. There is just something, at least for me, about a beautiful, organized space that gets me moving. This little stand did that for me.
